About Professor Dr. N. Kumaravel
Professor Kumaravel Natesan received his B.Sc in Physics from Madurai University, DMIT in Electronics Engineering from Madras Institute of Technology, Chrompet, Chennai. He took his Master Degree in Communication Systems from the University of Madras and Ph.D titled Preprocessing Analysis and Classification of ECG - An Artificial Intelligence Approach from Anna University, Chennai. He has been the faculty of College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University since 1978 and presently working as a professor of Eminence in the Department of ECE and Centre for Medical Electronics.
Prof. Kumaravel has been instrumental in developing biosignal processing laboratory in collaboration with Texas Instruments India Pvt Ltd and organized many short term courses in the area of biosignal processing for practicing engineers and other biomedical professionals. He has published over 140 research papers in reputed conferences and journals..
Prof. Kumaravel Natesan has a working experice of 5 years as CT scan engineer in the Madras Medical College and Goverment General Hospital and acquired very good exposure in software and hardware aspects of CT scan imaging system and its clinical applications. Under GTZ - Faculty Exchange Programme has visited Germany for a priod of 3 months and specialised in Biosignal Processing and Medical Imaging.
